Tips to Feeling Your Best for Your Boudoir Photoshoot

When you book a boudoir experience, I will be your main source of help as you plan and prepare for your big day. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, talk about your insecurities, and create a bond with me. Don’t forget – I am a fashionable expert when it comes to boudoir styles and body types! Here are some of my favorite secrets and tips to feeling your best for your boudoir photoshoot!

Boudoir Women Session, Detroit Boudoir

Tip 1: Pamper Yourself

Don’t be afraid to indulge in pampering yourself before you walk into the studio. Having your nails professionally done will boost your confidence way up! Have your haircut and colored a few days before so you can feel all dolled up. If you want to cover all the bases, opt for a bikini wax the week of your boudoir experience – it’s fast and won’t leave behind any stumble!

Keep in mind that all of this is optional, but many women enjoy going all out and having an excuse to pamper themselves leading up to the big day.

Tip 2: Pamper Your Skin

Pamper your skin. Even in the weeks leading up, you should exfoliate in the shower and use natural body creams afterward to soften it. This includes your face. Don’t forget to show it some love. A good face moisturizer helps keep it dewy and hydrated.

I would not recommend changing too many of your normal skin care products. Sometimes changing products can lead to breakouts, which tends to make women feel less confident. Stick to what your skin knows best!

Tip 3: Dress Comfortably

When you are getting dressed the morning of your session, wear comfortable and baggy clothes. You can change into your lingerie after your hair and makeup are completed. Comfortable, baggy clothes will help to avoid creasing on the skin from tight waistbands and bra straps.  I promise, no one is judging your outfit! There will be plenty of time for you to be looking your best throughout the day!

Tip 4: Plan Something Afterwards

Plan something fun to do after your session to celebrate yourself. Go out to dinner with friends, grab drinks with your date, or just take yourself shopping. Your hair and makeup will look fabulous, and your confidence will be soaring. Take advantage of the opportunity and make the most of your day!

Tip 5: Ask All the Questions

As your photographer, I am here to help with ANYTHING you need. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I want you to feel comfortable, prepared, and confident leading up to your session. Besides these tips to feeling your best for your boudoir photoshoot, I have many more resources that will help you make the most of your experience. I will answer any and all questions that you have. I recommend creating a list as you think of them so that you remember to ask me everything that’s on your mind.
